Once we buy our college books do we get a reimbursement from the government when we file our taxes?

I heard on the news once that if we collected all of our recepits of how much money we spent on books, we could get a rembursemnet up to 2000 dollars once we filed our taxes is this correct?Once we buy our college books do we get a reimbursement from the government when we file our taxes?
The hope tax credit has been expanded to include required books. This is a tax credit and not really a "reimbursement". And it has a maximum...that would include tuition and fees as well as books. You can't claim the credit for any books or tuition that was paid with scholarship or grant money.Once we buy our college books do we get a reimbursement from the government when we file our taxes?
I heard that too. on my bookstore receipt it says to visit www.textbookaid.org..i haven't visited it yet but surely will soon :) thanks for reminding me.
