What is the point of buying college books when professors give you notes on the overhead?

By the time you realise College was a waste of time and money, you will we graduated and still working at Dairy queen.What is the point of buying college books when professors give you notes on the overhead?
If you dont understand though, what are you going to learn from?

I bought one for my first course and didn't read most of it and I still ended up with a 93.What is the point of buying college books when professors give you notes on the overhead?
Because many of the professors still use the books and/or don't teach some material needed for the course that is present in the book. Unless the professor writes the book, you will probably need the book.
