If you could read your college books online for $3 a month instead of paying $100 for the book would u do it?

Or any book for that matter. If you could read your college books online for $3 a month instead of paying $100 for the book would u do it?
Instantly. College textbooks are the most ridiculous rip-off that a student would ever face. Firstly half of them are totally useless and you can do without, even so-called "required" books. Those that you need are then totally bloated and a real dredge to get any information from - it's like they're charging by the weight, so they stuff it with as much as they can! Then once the semester is over, you have to spend hours trying to sell the things just to get maybe 50% of your money back after just a few months - and then most courses change textbooks all the time (for so-called "updating" when only a few paragraphs change here and there), so there's a good chance you'll get nothing!

I took a course (regular in-class) that had an online textbook that was prepared by the professor. Sure, people (self included) find it harder to read online, but the point was that he only put the necessary stuff up there. It made it easy to find what we needed, because it wasn't 500 pages of constipated nonsense. Think about it - how many pages are in a chapter in a regular textbook, 50 or so? And you spend one or two classes on it at most? Think about how much is totally redundant there. The class I took was finance, something fairly dry and bookish, yet the online textbook was a total breeze, and I would definitely recommend it if the professor has taken the time to make sure it's exactly how he wants it - something that just isn't possible with a hardcopy textbook, unless he or she wants to change to yet another edition.

Four years of business classes taught me that the true path to easy money is by running a college bookstore.
in a secondIf you could read your college books online for $3 a month instead of paying $100 for the book would u do it?
in a heartbeat
College books maybe, but reading for pleasure - never!! I hear that this sort of thing is happening and I guess that we will all be doing it in 20 years time. I love and cherish my books though and am old fahioned I guessIf you could read your college books online for $3 a month instead of paying $100 for the book would u do it?
If I'd have the ability to highlight sections or put virtual bookmarks in a given book so I could easily go back for reference. I wouldn't like to have to page though 100's of pages until I found what is needed. Also would be great if indexed via hyperlinks.
I'd read the college book online...but the teachers would need to be behind it so that they could print out the chapters we are gonna go over...why would I wanna pay 100 bucks for a book Im gonna use for 3 months when it drops 50 percent of its value anyway after being bought! I swear I hate Americas extreme love of money...
Yes. I attended school online and chose that option. Textbooks are cumbersome and end up dusty or lost. All of my ebooks are stored in my ipod for easy reference. I can use them anytime now that I have my own business. It is very handy.
Yes i sure would if i read them for a yr @ 3.00 a month i'd be paying 36.00,,Who would'nt rather pay that then 100,,Even better if thats all i had to do do finish up collage %26amp; graduate
No, because I took my text books everywhere I went, for example the long wait at my Doctors office gave me plenty of time to study- I can't imagine bringing a laptop everywhere I go, they are to heave, and distracting.
yes,definitely
As a once literatue major i couldn't imagine the headache and eye strain i would get from reading 100s to a thousad pages a week online. I would be blind after four years, with that said, maybe for psychology or sciences if the pages could be printed
No, because I like to be able to take notes and to write comments in the books I own. I also like keeping many of them to refer to in later years. I taught and used many of my college books during my professional years.
I had to do alot of reading in college. I can't imagine looking at a computer screen for that long just looking at text. My eyes would probably hurt after a while. That's only a concern for me because I don't have the best eyesight.
