You school should have a buy back program, however they will only take back books that are in use for the current semester. So if the books are not used by your school then they may not purchase them back.

You can check around campus and see if there are any book stores there that will take back books, but most likely they will have the same stipulations.

What several of my friends have done is listed their used books on eBay. They have sold almost every one, and for about 80% of face value in most cases. It depends greatly on who out there needs the book that you have.

I would check with the book stores there first, then try eBay. You may also try craig's list as well.

Hope this helps.
I wouldn't try selling old textbooks back to the university since they'll give you such a small amount back compared to the original investment. If the books are even a few months old, the university/department might have changed the edition required for students so they may not even accept it.

I haven't tried to sell my books anywhere but as a college student, I've definitely bought plenty of books from Half.com which is affiliated with eBay.

Good luck!
