Which would be better for college books? Would one download more than the other? Cheaper books on one?Nook or Kindle for college school books?
The problem is that not all books are available for all machines. You may find that some of your texts can be found on one system and others are available for the other system.
One big difference is that Nook has pictures, and Kindle doesn't. That's a big difference when it comes to textbooks.
You can go to their websites and see if your texts are available and what they charge for them.Nook or Kindle for college school books?
I would say it depends on what types of textbooks you are putting on there. I got a Nook color because I was putting on biology textbooks which had a lot of diagrams I wanted to be able to see in color. If you are putting your math text books on it or something like that, the color thing probably isn't important to you. (Not sure if Kindle does a color E reader though). I do prefer the glossy screen on my Nook color to the e-ink on the Kindle and regular Nook though. The back lite screen actually makes for easier reading in my opinion. Plus the Nook color is really handy when say you are in a coffee shop studying, didn't bring your computer, and you want to check your email or whatever. Nook color has wifi and they just came out with applications. Plus I know Barnes and Nobles (people who make the Nook) have a new text book shop specifically for the Nook and Nook color. Also, the Nook color isn't too pricey for everything that it does. I think it is $250. I absolutely love mine and it has come in handy a lot this past year.Nook or Kindle for college school books?
I am obviously biased, but honest.
You wont find all of your textbooks this way. There are more through BN but most require desktop/laptop with program based environment for use called NOOKStudy. Other sources offer pdf textbooks, these are most efficiently used on NOOK Color. With EasyPDF reader app you can do annotation if its stored on a microSD card. Use reader view or fit width setting for best results. NOOKcolor can be read in any lighting because of the backlight and performs best with the antiglare screen kit.
Kindle has the best features, selection and lower ebook prices in my opinion. The monochrome nook is OK but I think one major problem of the color nook is that the display has a backlit that causes eyestrain in many people. (whereas I can look at a kindle all day).
If your in the market, you can get the basic kindle for just $114 shipped, which is nuts:

Or you could get the 3g kindle for just a little more:

One of the people above said kindle doesn't display images - that is not true.. my ebooks have illustrations but they are just black and white, which doesn't bother me.
