Should I rent or buy used books? Are there any other ways to get the books?
I'm starting school in two weeks should I wait, I heard some teachers makes copies
of the book. Oh and I'm going to a community college. What's better to buy text books in college?
No teachers do not make copies of books.....there are hundreds of pages.
I bought used books and sold them.
Buy books that you know you will need later. (If you're majoring in chemistry for example, might as well buy all your science textbooks so you can use them later for your major) And rent the books that you don't need for longer than that semester. (If you're taking an art class, but you know you'll never have to take an art class again.) Buy your books used because they will be cheaper. What's better to buy text books in college?
Some books you can rent, some i would buy and keep, if your in a medical program. You can look around campus or on line and find people selling their books. That will save a ton of money.
Check out http://college-junction.com/2011/08/10/t鈥?/a> to find a good blog post about if you should rent or not. You could spend more money renting than buying. Remember when you buy, you can resell them and make money from that. Renting, you also have to think about shipping costs, and the potential cost of what would happen if you lost the book or ruined it.What's better to buy text books in college?
Buy it, you never know when you need to look back for information
teachers actually do make copies of books, I've had to go to a copy place for some classes before to get the book. they've also signed us up for online books before as a trial that let us have them for free. I would seriously just rent the book because you can always buy it later if it turns out you really need it (which like 98 times out of 100 you won't because you can just look up something online). buying them and selling them back you never make like even 1/2 of your money back and if a new edition comes out or they switch books for the class, then good luck making any money at all. if you really think you'll need the book, try out Chegg, BookByte, and ABEbooks
buy used copies of the textbooks...they are usually at least half the price of new books and often have important notes highlighted or written in the book
get used books on amazon, so much cheaper than the book store on campus
