College books!!!!!!?????????

ok. so the spring semester is quickly approaching for me and its time to buy all of my books. I receive financial aid so when i went to my school to buy most of my books i had my financial account activated so all the money i received is now on my school ID card. I purchased all of my books accept for one that was not in stock at the time and is unknown when it will be available. is there any way that i can buy the book off of a site like Amazon with the financial aid that is on my ID card?College books!!!!!!?????????
Well is your university is willing to pay for the books, which seems like the case, then yes. I don' tknow how that transaction would play out though, you may wana contact your financial aid office, and talk to a worker in that department. They'll surely help you outCollege books!!!!!!?????????
I doubt it. You could try asking the financial aid office whether there is any way to do it, or you could see whether there's something you can buy using the ID card that you'd ordinarily pay cash for, and then use the cash to buy the book somewhere.

Have you checked whether the library has a copy? They do have copies of textbooks sometimes.

But one thing to keep in mind is that if the book was not in stock when you went to the bookstore, it may not have been in stock when other people went, too. And that's one of the few instances where professors may be willing to accommodate people who don't have the text -- at the very least your professor may be willing to put a copy on reserve in the library so that people can use it there. If the financial aid office doesn't help you, I would go to the professor, explain that because you rely on financial aid you could not buy your book until the money was on the card and that when the money was on the card the bookstore didn't have any, either because the book never came in in the first place or because they'd sold all their copies, explain that because the financial aid is put on your ID card you can't just buy a copy online or even at another bookstore in town, and ask for help until you manage to get the school bookstore to find and sell you a copy. Your story can be verified in two ways: first, the professor can call the bookstore and verify that they don't have any of the textbook in stock; and second, the professor can call the financial aid office and verify that they put (certain kinds of) financial aid money on the ID card rather than giving the student a check so that they can spend the money anywhere they choose. (If you still have the receipt from when you bought all your other books, that's a third way you can prove elements of your story: specifically, that you went on a particular date and that this is the only class for which you don't have the book.) That should give you credibility even if the professor initially has doubts about your story. And, unlike most of the "I don't have a textbook" stories that professors hear, this one is actually not the student's fault at all.

Good luck. This is the sort of thing that would freak me out much more than is probably really reasonable, so you have my sympathies.
