When do I start ordering books for college with financial aid?

I am new to college and wonder when are you suppose to order books by?What if the place your ordering through does not have those books in yet?I would prefer to order used books but do not know if I should?What do you do if you accidently order a book that is not needed?Are you suppose to wait until classes start?When do I start ordering books for college with financial aid?
You can save money by buying books online but you must be sure you're buying the right book....I go online to the school bookstore and look at the books for that class. But if you do it this way, you have to pay out of pocket. Then when you get your financial aid refund of any left over from your school you can pay yourself back. Your campus bookstore will have the books you need. You will not have to "order" them ahead of time. You take your class schedule into the campus bookstore and the will make sure you get the right book. Most schools will allow you to return them within the first few days if you accidentally get the wrong book... just make sure you KEEP your receipt and keep the class schedule handy they will need to look at it again.

You can wait til classes start, I usually did. I headed to the bookstore IMMEDIATELY after my first day of classes but not any later.When do I start ordering books for college with financial aid?
When you have financial aid you have to order your books the first day the aid money is put into your account (usually the first day of school). Go to the on campus book store and ask someone to help you find your books...they usually know which books go with what course. Once you find the books you need for your courses write the names down on a piece of paper and order them online from Amazon (in the used book section)...it will save you hundreds of dollars. Be sure to do this the first day so you can have a heads up on the good deals.





Also if you order a book that is not needed, most colleges will give the student a refund within the first week of school. Some schools also have a book refund-return date.
