How long does it take to receive college books ordered from websites like half.com?

And is this a good site to buy books from, what are your experiences from it, if you have bought books from it before.

I have a class that starts the 19th of this month and want to save some money on the book. About How long does it take to get the books you orderd? How long does it take to receive college books ordered from websites like half.com?
I went to the website and since it's an eBay website, it should be pretty safe. I'd double check though - call them, check their address, etc, so that you know who you're dealing with and if half.com is a genuine address.

I've found lots of textbooks on Amazon.com at decent prices. I'd highly recommend Amazon.

The shipping info on that website says that most books arrive in 2 -9 days after shipping. So probably you'd expect it in 2 weeks, since order processing takes a while. But the website also says that Media Mail shipments can take as long as 30 days to arrive, and as far as I know, Media Mail is the most commonly used method of sending things like textbooks (I could be wrong though).

The best thing to do is to email the seller and ask for an estimated delivery date.

Hope that helps. :)How long does it take to receive college books ordered from websites like half.com?
Beware! Feedback may be for him as a buyer, not seller. I bought from one w/100% positive, but as a buyer-"Quick pay" etc. As a seller they got my $$ via credit card in %26lt;24hr but took 2 wks just to drop my book in t/mail. Had to go to the bookstore and buy in time to do homework-stuck w/2 copies now

It depends on the individual seller. I've sold several books through half.com and the buyers all received their books in four days via media mail. I once ordered a book and paid extra for the expedited shipping, but it took a couple of weeks to get it because the seller only shipped once a week. Be sure to check the seller's rating, read some of the comments, and if possible, e-mail the seller to see how long it will take to get it in the mail. Of course, by the time you exchange e-mails, someone else may have bought the book.

It might be safer to buy from a "store" (high volume seller) on half.com because selling books is all they do, whereas an individual selling books is also a student and probably has a job, so it may not be possible for them to run to the post office to mail your book right away. I prefer to buy from individuals, though, because I like a clean text and the high volume sellers often just say they'll send you their best available copy, so you're never sure what you're going to get, whereas an individual seller knows exactly what condition his book is in. Be sure to check Amazon.com, too. At this time of year (beginning of the semester), most of the good, cheap copies at half.com are already gone so it's possible that you might be paying about the same, or even more, for a used copy at half.com than for a new copy at Amazon. Check ebay, too. You still have a couple of weeks, so you shouldn't have any problems getting your books on time. If anything goes wrong, you should be able to get your money back. I bought a lab book that was listed in excellent condition, but turned out it was missing a lot of pages. The seller refunded my money and even left a nice comment. Just be sure to read the sellers comments and communicate with the seller until you feel comfortable about your purchase.
