Where would i be allowed to have a bake sale to pay for my college books?

so i'm a freshman at college and shocked at the price of books- 500 dollars for this semester!!!!

I have a job but I need cash, fast.

I love baking so i feel that i could host a bake sale.

but where could i do this? am i allowed to do it by supermarkets, like what can i do?

thanks!Where would i be allowed to have a bake sale to pay for my college books?
Supermarkets usually need you to provide some sort of non-profit statusbut you never know - it won't hurt to ask - talk to the manager. Check your local farmer's or flee markets. Some may have requirements such as providing tax ID or non-profit status as well but some smaller ones don't. It may cost a little for the space but if you're baking a lot of items and have a good turn-out, it will definately be worth your time. Another idea is talk to your resident advisor. If you have one, they might let you do something inside your dorm or common room and use all of your friends and neighbors to spread the word around campus like an "ice-cream social" type thing. If you don't have an RA and live on your own, host a "garage sale" type thing. Advertise on craigslist and any school or church boards you know of, and just have a full set up of all your baked goods. Maybe give small samples (cookie/brownie bites) and take orders for future as well - "make great birthday and holiday gifts for your friends and family".

Good luck!Where would i be allowed to have a bake sale to pay for my college books?
Supermarkets and so forth only give permission for bake sales that are fundraising for charity or for community organizations. They're not going to give permission to an individual trying to raise funds for personal expenses. Sorry.

Try offering to bake cookies or cupcakes for the other students in your dorm. You could take orders and deliver them on request.Where would i be allowed to have a bake sale to pay for my college books?
check with your health dept , in most states you CANT bake something in your home and bring it for resale for the public.there are some who pay for a license and get inspected in order to sell baked good out of there home.
