Any good series of books for college guys?

I know there are plenty of books for girls (like twilight) and younger kids (Harry potter for instance), but are there any really dark grim series off books for a 20 year old college guy like me?Any good series of books for college guys?
Alex Cross series by James Patterson. Begins with "Along Came a Spider." Quite action packed with the whole psychotic serial killer running around. Good books, though.

And just on another note, I'll give the claim Twilight = girl books. But I won't give you the claim Harry Potter = younger kids. If anything books 5 and up are more for adults with the violence and raging war.
I'm not a big fan of either series you pointed out, haha.

Chuck Palahniuk is a master at dark, creepy and grim in several aspects.

Invisible Monsters, Choke, Diary, Lullaby, Snuff.

Fight Club is the most known.

They're all pretty heavy with mature content,

Snuff is probably the one that actually slightly creeped me out.Any good series of books for college guys?
Margaret, you are officially retarded. The one to encourage someone to be stupid is the one that I hope dies in a horrible fire made from burning twilight books.

ANYWAYS

I don't think there are really any series written for college students in particular. If you want something a little more adult and dark and gritty you might want to try Clive Barker, H.P. Lovecraft, or at the very least Stephen King or Dean Koontz.
The Abhorsen series by Garth Nix. Dark, Creepy, Depressing, College level.

The books in this awesome series are Sabriel, Lirael, and AbhorsenAny good series of books for college guys?
Dark and grim? Hmmm...look at some sci-fi/fantasy, especially Laurel K. Hamilton (if you like vampire stories) or Anne Rice (old school vampire stories that started the "sexy vampire" genre).

Edit: go with elle's suggestion. CP is well worth reading. When I managed a bookshop, we always sold out of his stuff, fast fast fast.

You could also look at Aldous Huxley's Brave New World, if you haven't had it assigned in one of your English courses yet.
ummm...Stephen King maybe I only saw the shining the movie, but loved it!! his books are like books for young adults so yeah! ;D
