What are the best books for college applications, personal statements, and SATs?

Well time is getting close to going to college!

I'm planning on taking my second shot at the SAT's (I got a 1760 first time if you're wondering) and I'm aiming for a 2100!

I really want to get into UC Berkeley so I was wondering if anyone could reccomend good books for studying for the SAT's, college applications, and personal statements.

I would really appreciate any other advice for college in general or the UCs

Thank you very much in advance! What are the best books for college applications, personal statements, and SATs?
In studying for the SATs, you should definitely use the College Board book, as they contain real questions, perhaps then supplemented by others like the Princeton Review or Barron's. For a comparison of the major test prep companies, see http://www.nerld.com/blog/2011/07/08/a-comparison-of-major-test-prep-companies/, and for tips on studying for the SAT, see http://www.nerld.com/blog/2011/07/08/how-to-prepare-for-the-act-and-sat/.

Also, for an extremely detailed and GREAT guide to college applications (it doesn't seem like it's completely done yet, but the stuff's that's already up is great) , see http://www.nerld.com/blog/the-applying-to-college-series/.

Good luck! I'm sure you'll get into the college of your dreams! :)
