I have a lot of used college text books in good condition and want to sell them. I want to sell them but quickly and safely. I looked into Amazon, but they take a lot of your profit. Does anyone know of a good place to sell them? Or if you sold yours, were at?What is a good way to sell used college text books?
If you are still in college or live nearby and the books were used in the last two years, check in the college bookstore for the books for assigned for each class and if any of yours (same edition) are still in use, go to the classroom where the class is being taught and stand outside the door holding the book and a "for sale" sign before or after the class. Sell them for about a dollar less than the bookstore is asking for used books and accept only cash.
If a lot of your texts are older than 2-3 years, you might be **** out of luck, as profs tend to update their texts every few years, at least in editions if not a whole new text. A lot of people are wary about buying previous editions without the prof saying it'll work for them, too.
If you know particular texts are still being used at a local school, print up a bunch of ads and pin them up on the bulletin boards there within the first few days of any semester. As long as you're selling them cheaper than the book store, you'll get them sold. You can probably look at all the book lists online by going to school websites.
Craigslist is also pretty good, as long as you're dealing locally and only in cash. If you're worried, meet up with people in a public place, like "outside the Starbucks at ____ Mall - I'll be wearing a plaid jacket and bright green boots". You could also try the Facebook marketplace, posting to your alumni network. What is a good way to sell used college text books?
The best way is by Mass-Emailing your classmates. They usually do this a lot, so you probably have noticed. And of course, it works wonders. It's like Craigslist, where you set a price and open for negotiation when you meet at a common place to buy/sell it. Moreover, this is also tied to networking, so any friends or their friends can always buy your books at a reasonable price.
You get the best profit by selling to your classmates, neighbors, and students.
- You can always sell it back to your school or a bookstore, but not at a price that even comes close to the solution I mentioned above :)
I found that the best way to get the most for your books is deff online. Going to your local bookstore or campus bookstore is not the way to go. I use http://www.bigwords.com and it's the best. They search all the online textbook resellers to find you the most you can get for your books. It's great. So easy. Highly recommend taking a look at it. Good luck! What is a good way to sell used college text books?
Hey- I know a GREAT place to sell textbooks to. www.chegg.com I've sold SO many textbooks to them over the past few years and they give you good money for it. Also, if you have a promo code they'll give you some extra cash for the books too! I highly recommend them! The promo code is CC102398. Enjoy!
There are a lot of sites you can sell your books back online besides Amazon. Check out some of them here: http://www.makecollegereality.com/succee鈥?/a>
