Every quarter I pay for college books for my classes and every quarter we don't even use them. I've had classes where the book wasn't opened even once. I would have taken them back if the instructor had told me we didn't need it but they never say that. It makes me so mad! You could just not buy books unless you discover that they are absolutely needed. There are some older versions in the library if you just need it once or twice. Or you could read them just so you don't feel like you are wasting resources.
