How to sell college books on the sidewalk in Brooklyn?

I would like to sell college books (about 8 years old) for a few bucks on the sidewalk at Vanderbilt Avenue and Prospect Place.

Do I need a permission to do so? If so where can I get a permit?

If not. Can you please let me know other alternatives?

There is an NYC government website that has a wizard you can use to see what licenses and permits are required. Scroll down to find the link: http://www.nyc.gov/portal/site/businesse鈥?/a>

I'm guessing you will need a permit.

Other options:

-- pawn the books at a pawnshop. Just walk in and see what they will offer for the books.

-- Amazon.com has a textbook reselling program. http://www.amazon.com/Sell-Books-and-sel鈥?/a>

-- since they're 8 years old, it may be difficult to sell them to current students. Try eBAY, where people look for deals and harder-to-find items.
